How major US stock indexes fared Tuesday, 4/9/2024

Stocks meandered to a mixed close on Wall Street as traders made their final moves before several potentially market-moving reports later in the week. The S&P 500 edged up 0.1% Tuesday. The Dow Jones Industrial Average was little changed, and the Nasdaq composite inched up 0.3%.
