South Lake Tahoe residents begin cautious return as nearly half-contained Caldor Fire burns nearby

South Lake Tahoe’s evacuation order was downgraded on Sunday, allowing around 22,000 people who had been forced to evacuate because of the Caldor Fire to return home.
