Culture focus: Durga Puja events to turn Bengaluru into ‘Bengal’uru

Durga Puja events in Bengaluru this year are focusing on thematic celebrations and vibrant decorations. One association is recreating a replica of an 18th-century zamindari house, while another is installing a bamboo-cloth replica of India Gate. The aim is to bring back the lost tradition and highlight the importance of the zamindars' role in society. Other associations are focusing on world peace, showcasing Bengal's folk art and craft, and displaying artwork by visually challenged children. The celebrations will begin on October 20.
