Ahead of polls, Maoists kill BJP leader in Bastar

On Saturday, Maoists killed Ratan Dubey, the vice-president of the BJP in Narayanpur district, in full public view. Dubey is the second BJP leader to be killed in Bastar in two weeks and the seventh this year. The murder occurred after Dubey addressed an election rally and a group of men chased and shot him before hacking him to death. The Maoists had previously issued a threat to political workers and candidates in the region.
