Got traffic challan? Don’t fret, you can now settle it virtually

Abhimanyu, a government employee, was able to resolve a traffic violation by participating in a virtual hearing and paying a fine online. The Delhi High Court has established virtual traffic courts to expedite cases and enable paperless proceedings. Since April 2019, over 2.1 crore traffic bookings have been disposed of through these courts. The system allows offenders to receive an SMS challan, pay the fine online, or contest the notice in court. Virtual traffic courts aim to provide convenience and save time for both litigants and the judiciary.
