European natural gas prices spike in response to strikes in energy-rich Australia

After enjoying a period of relief from a premium driven by the war in Ukraine, European natural gas prices are on the rise again as the potential for labor strikes in Australia threaten alternative supplies. The Dutch Title Transfer Facility (TTF), a European benchmark for the price of natural gas, finished the trading day Wednesday up 28% to reach $12 per million British thermal units.
