Denmark to ban Quran burnings

Denmark announced plans to ban Quran burnings after a series of incidents in the country sparked anger in Muslim nations. The ban will criminalize the improper treatment of significant religious objects and is aimed specifically at burnings and desecrations in public places. The proposed legislation will also cover desecrations of the Bible, the Torah, or a crucifix. Offenders could face fines or up to two years in prison.
