Putin, Xi and UN secretary-general Gutteres to attend virtual meeting on Israel-Hamas war

Leaders from the BRICS bloc, including Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping, will hold a virtual meeting to discuss the Israel-Hamas war. The meeting will also include United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Gutteres and leaders from Brazil, India, South Africa, Saudi Arabia, Argentina, Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, and the United Arab Emirates. The leaders are expected to address the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and may adopt a joint statement.
