'Extreme' Microplastic Pile
Found in North Atlantic Greenpeace researchers have found "extreme" concentrations of microplastics in the Sargasso Sea.
One sample contained 1,300 fragments of microplastic.
These levels of pollution are higher than those found in the Great Pacific Garbage Patch.
The majority of the pollution comes from single-use plastic bottles and plastic packaging.
