A main road into Castleford was flooded on Sunday (September 29) as flooding hit the north of England.

Barnsdale Road between Castleford and Allerton Bywater became flooded on Sunday afternoon after heavy rain swept the region through Saturday night into Sunday afternoon.

The floods caused travel disruption as many motorists turned around to find an alternative route, but others ignored the danger and battled high water levels.

The road has since been closed by West Yorkshire Police, according to the filmer.
