Oroville city council members voted to*ba* the distribution of syringes within their city limits.

The vote was unanimous in moving forward with what they called ordinance 18-42.

This ban will go in effect in 30 days.

Everyone who wished to comment during the meeting agreed with the ban too.

Mayor chuck reynolds suggested to the city administrator to move forward with sending a letter to the state department of public health over concerns of this program in other cities.

Reynolds says cities should mark the syringes with a type of serial number to identify which city those syringes came from.
