In our top story at 11...protesters are in downtown lexington for an 18th night of demonstrations.

They are demanding more after the mayor and urban county council promised action today to address racism and policing.

Abc 36's monica harkins is 'live' downtown.

Monica...a smaller group out tonight but with some bigger issues.

Tonight we've seen a bit of a division here in front of the lexington police department.

We saw one organizer urge people to start conversations with police...but another organizer called that being a police apologist.

Even now, some people talking one- on-one with police and others yelling and cursing at officers.

The group, less than a hundred people monday night...still asking for police accountability on this third week of protests.

I talked to one protester who favors conversation with police officers than taking a more aggressive approach...she says tonight's division is not good for the greater goal.

"i think that's unfair and i feel like, you know, we're chanting united we stand, divided we fall.

But that's division in our group and it's important that we stick together on this issue because it's not about me or anybody else in the group, it's about the issue."

As far as no knock warrants temporarily banned in lexington, protesters tell me it's something that should have been done a long time
