Former Macon-Bibb mayoral candidate Sullivan endorses Miller

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — Former candidate for Macon-Bibb Mayor Blake Sullivan is endorsing Lester Miller.

Approved recognizing the 2020 independence day holiday by closing offices on friday july 3rd.

Also new tonight at 11: blake sullivan, former macon-bibb mayoral candidate, announced on his campaign page he is endorsing lester miller for mayor.

Sullivan's post said in part: "over the months of this campaign for mayor of macon-bibb, i have had the opportunity to observe the agendas and perspectives of both lester miller and cliffard whitby.

After meeting with both candidates, i am writing to endorse lester miller for mayor.

As mayor, i believe he will work hard for all citizens of our community."

Miller responded to the endorsement by saying in part : "i'm honored and humbled to receive blake sullivan's endorsement of our campaign today.

I appreciate his endorsement and look forward to working together to secure a future for macon-bibb that is brighter than our past."

With about 15-hundred absentee ballots still uncounted from the june 9th election, miller has 43% of the vote, according to a release from his campaign.

The runoff election between miller and whitby is scheduled for august 11.
