The greaterinstability remains acrosswestern Maryland and easternWest Virginia.

As we get intothe heart of this morning,showers and thunderstormsshould become isolated andweaker across eastern WestVirginia and northernVirginia.

As afternoon arrivesand increasing heat andhumidity become a biggerplayer in todayús convection,showers and thunderstorms,some strong, will erupt alonga warm front.

Heavy rainfallwill be the main threat fromthunderstorms. WPC has thesouthern on━third of our CWAoutlined in the excessiverainfall potential.

Thepotential is there that thestronger and more persistentthunderstorms produce floodingor flash flooding.

The area ofgreater probability is east ofI━81, south of ━66 and eastof ━95 this afternoon andevening from around 1pm to7pm.

High temperatures willreach the lower to middle 90sthroughout central portions ofour region.

A couple ofdegrees cooler in the west andalong the Chesapeake Bay.Showers and thunderstorms willpush southeastward thisevening, before falling apartwith an advancing cool frontpushing southward tonight.FridayA slight chance ofshowers and thunderstormsafter 11am.
