The Junior Auxiliary in West Point is collecting school supplies for the annual "Stuff the Bus" event.

Here in west point is collecting school supplies.

But this year it's different because there are some items the group can't accept because of the pandemic.

Crosby miller-schools chair, west point junior auxiliary 0:00-0:05;20 crosby miller and cheryl harris are making sure students in clay county have the supplies they need for the upcoming school year.

Miller said "stuff the bus" is an annual event where community members can drop off supplies to 3 different locations... including dollar general, cvs and walmart.

Then junior auxiliary members will distribute the supplies to schools in the area.

Cheryl harris-president, junior auxiliary of west point 0:29;08-0:35;03 harris said the pandemic impacted the school drive this year..the group can't ask for soft items like uniforms or backpacks because the material can hold more germs. but with more students learning virtually, they added different types of supplies the list.

"technological supplies like headphones and stuff like that and put things like that this time which is different in the past times."

Community members can also donate supplies online to the junior auxiliary's amazon account.

"just supporting and embracing the needs of our community."

This dollar general is just one of the drop off locations: the last day for stuff the bus is tomorrow (saturday).
