Governor Eric J.

Holcomb announced a partnership between the Indiana Division of Mental Health and Addiction and Mental Health America of Indiana to expand access to trained peer support recovery professionals through the Indiana Recovery Network.

This contract will supply funding to 16 organizations statewide.

It will expand its resources by paying for more than 40 peer support staff memebers.

This will provide regional recovery support across the state.

They'll be certified peer recovery coaches.

Those coaches will connect hoosiers with mental health, and substance use disorders, to treatment and recovery support.

Amy brinkley, with the indiana division of mental health, says it'll be easier for people to find the resources they need.

"they can call 211.

So we just partnered with 211 so if someone needs direct access to a peer or treatment or referral system or really free counseling services they can just call 211."

Peer recovery coaches will also pursue community collaboration with jails and prosecutor offices.

The goal is to educate the area that this resource is available.
