Students who chose in-person learning at central high school will have to go online for at least a month of school.

Kq2's madeline mcclain joins us live from the central with more on the decision.maddie?a big blow for the more than 1-thousand students that enrolled in in-person classes central... the district sent a letter and students saying recent rain and caused air quality issues in the freshman this will not affect the virtual academy students -- central students who would have started school in-person on august 31st will learn remotely until the work is done.

The problems are isolated to the freshman building -- but school officials say all of central will have to close while they clean up.

The freshman building actually houses nearly half of the classes for all grades at central.

School officials say it's just not possible to squeeze all of that into the rest of central and follow covid-19 health guidelines.

So why wasn't this problem discovered earlier -- here's what the superintendent says about it.
