School buses, crossing guards and balloons welcomed students back to murdock elementary school thursday.

"we are excited im a little bit nervous too, the virus is something that scares me.
We all are asymptomatic in our house.
Its a little bit more of a risk but home schooling is hard right now."
In order to ease those worries... school leaders are making everyone take the following steps.
Wear a mask - get their temperature taken and stay 6 feet apart.
The school's mascot is a duck so they decided to use that to remind students to keep their distance - by painting webbed feet - 6 feet apart - on the floors.

We also spoke with some parents who were opposed to sending their kids back to campus -- they did not want to go on camera.
The murdock elementary principal told action news now... the school applied for a waiver about a month ago when cases in glenn county were trending down.
But the applications for other schools that applied afte* cases spsiked recently -- are on hold for the time being.
