Here’s how you can make a true Cuban vaca frita dish using a Lodge cast iron skillet

Vaca Frita, or “fried beef”, is a traditional Cuban dish that has shredded and fried flank, or skirt steak, topped with sauteed onions and with a squeeze of lime.

It can be served with rice and black beans along with plantains or tostones.

This Hispanic Heritage Month, In the Know’s Daniel Menendez demonstrates how to make authentic Cuban vaca frita using our favorite cast iron skillet.
