Let's bring in waay 31's ashley carter who joins us live outside huntsville hospital this morning.

Ashley -- why were doctors concerned about the president's oxygen levels?

Huntsville hospital disease specialist- doctor ali hassoun - told us if blood oxygen levels are below 94- percent for a few hours, it's concerning for any patient.

He said if doctors here at huntsville hospital saw a coronavirus patient with those levels, they would admit them to the hospital doctor hassoun told us shortness of breath - something we learned the president is experiencing ---is one indicator of low oxygen saturation levels.

He says a healthy rate is 97-percent, we know that the president's rate dipped below 94 percent.

Doctor hassoun says doctors reccommend patients are given a low or high flow of oxygen depending on their symptoms "our oxygen is very important to put our lung function, our heart function, brain function.

To keep our organs functational you need what we call a saturation which is a level of oxygen in the blood."

Doctor hassoun did say it is a good sign the president is walking around and doing things without having shortness of breath.

He says it's a sign he is doing better.
