The children of the married couple says their father's plane took on enemy fire, but the flying metal lodged into this folded parachute.

His future bride toiled to gently remove army navy lettering , then masterfully salvaged the tattered pieces.

Its yellowed a bit... but now it sits at the aviation museum to teach about the greatest generations' bravery, sacrifice and ingenuity.

A 16-year-old girl in missouri is turning heads --- for her work on the football field.

She's the kicker for her high school's varsity team.

It all started after a pre-game parade... alexis...was picked to kick the ball..

The softball star wasnt even sure she could kick it but she was good at it and the coach convinced her to join the team.

And as a junior... she's become a team leader... alexis says... after the games... younger girls always come up to her and talk to about playing football.... and she's always got the same message...take chances and dont have regrets.
