Tennessee governor bill lee visited cleveland high school thursday for a jobs for tennessee graduates event.

Jobs for tennessee graduates is a non-profit organization that helps high school students navigate toward college and job opportunities following graduation.

"i got to understand a little bit more, the challenges and the needs of tennessee kids, and how it is how we go through the education system, and through partners like jobs for tennessee graduates and others.

We want to create so many pathways of success, that whatever they are to you, you can pursue that and you can find success in your life."

After his speech, governor lee signed a check for seven hundred and fifty thousand dollars to the non - profit organization.

He also spoke to the students involved in the organization, and said it makes him feel hopeful for the future of tennessee.

"we work with employers, we want to have an enhanced employer engagement in bradley county and in cleveland so that we can connect those dots, they can go from graduation to school and/or full time employment.

This is so important because we need money to do that."

Governor lee took a second to thank teachers and administrators for the hard work they have demonstrated over the year due to covid-19.
