Two people are now facing animal cruelty charges after hundreds of dogs and cats were removed from an animal rescue operation in montgomery county..

But there's some disagreement over whether that needed to happen..

According to rescue group 'the kentucky guardians of rescue'... the animals were found in deplorable conditions and had to be saved..

The group is seeking donations to assist..

Meanwhile, the 'caring about treasured strays' rescue says there was no reason for the animals to be removed... that they were well-cared for and properly fed..
