On Tuesday, the Kansas City area's most populous county reported its first coronavirus case. The Jackson County Health Department reported that a woman in her 80s tested positive for COVID-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus. According to KCUR, the case was identified by a private testing laboratory. Wyandotte County reported two new cases of coronavirus.
