Japanese retailer Muji's U.S. division filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy Friday. Muji U.S.A. Limited — operated by Ryohin Keikaku Co. Ltd. in Tokyo — plans to close some of its brick-and-mortar stores and renegotiate its rents as part of the process. It will shift its focus to e-commerce, according to a press release.
