United Airlines' workforce reduction could impact thousands of Houston employees

The Chicago-based airline warned employees last week that it could furlough as many as 36,000 workers companywide, or more than a third of its total employees, as the coronavirus pandemic continues to hurt travel demand. About 13% of affected employees could be in Houston.
