Golden Arrow Resources Corporation (CVE:GRG) (OTCQB:GARWF) has kicked off diamond drilling at its Tierra Dorada gold project in Paraguay in a 500 metre (m) program, which is expected to last around one month. Local company MasterGold SA is carrying out the work at the Alvaro target sinking holes up to 20m depth to test near-surface prospects and delineate targets for deep drilling, the firm said in a statement on Friday. READ: Golden Arrow Resources, with a track record of discovery, advancing three potentially exciting metals projects in South America Sampling at Alvaro has already thrown up high grade gold, with results including 89.5 grams per ton (g/t) of the yellow metal and 61 g/t silver over a length of 0.93 metres. Also encountered in a trench was 143.4 g/t gold and 95.8 g/t silver over 0.58 metres. "The program will include a nominal 500 metres of drilling which is expected to test at least 8 of the known quartz vein showings, including the hanging wall and footwall rocks which were difficult to sample with trenching," Golden Arrow told investors. Regional mapping, stream and rock sampling is ongoing at both the north and south property blocks at Tierra Dorada. An Induced Polarization (IP) survey is also planned, which will start once the Chilean-based geophysical team is permitted entry to Paraguay, which is currently restricted due to coronavirus (COVID-19) restrictions. Tierra Dorada is one of three properties the explorer is advancing. It comprises two blocks totaling 64,000 hectares - the Paraguari property to the north, and the Misiones property to the south. Alvaro is one of four previously-identified target areas in the southern property block. Contact the author at giles@proactiveinvestors.com
