Medline, a medical supply giant based in the Chicago area, is selling a majority stake to a group of private equity firms. Medline announced over the weekend that it has agreed to be acquired by a consortium made up of Blackstone Group, Carlyle Group and Hellman & Friedman LLC.  Financial terms weren't disclosed, but The Wall Street Journal valued the deal at $34 billion, citing sources familiar with the matter.
