Stock market today: Chinese stocks lead Asia's gains, Evergrande faces liquidation

Asian markets have opened the week on a positive note after Wall Street closed another winning week with a mixed finish. Heavily indebted property developer China Evergrande's shares plunged almost 21% and were suspended from trading after it was ordered to undergo liquidation. U.S. futures were lower while oil prices gained. The S&P 500 slipped 0.1% on Friday, the first decline for the index after it set record highs for five straight days. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 60 points, while the weakness for tech stocks dragged the Nasdaq composite down 0.4%. Treasury yields rose modestly after another report suggested inflation is cooling while the economy keeps powering higher.
