Future unclear for defaced statue of Belgian colonial king

The future of a statue in Belgium of King Leopold II is in question after protesters covered it in paint and burnt it during Black Lives Matter protests. An online petition against the statues return passed 64,000. King Leopold II is associated with the deaths of more than 10 million Congolese people in a 23-year reign over the colony.
