NDMC doubles fee at 38 parking lots till January to fight bad air

The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) has decided to double parking fees at 38 lots managed by its staff to discourage car usage due to high air pollution levels after Diwali. The increased rates will be in effect until January 31, 2024. The NDMC charges Rs 20 per hour for four-wheelers and Rs 10 per hour for two-wheelers, but with the new decision, the fees will be increased to Rs 40 per hour for four-wheelers and Rs 20 per hour for two-wheelers. The Municipal Corporation of Delhi, however, has no plans to increase parking fees.
