Congress calls INDIA block meet for 2024 Lok Sabha polls as BJP triumphs Hindi heartland states

The opposition coalition in INDIA will meet on December 6 to finalize their seat-sharing formula for the 2024 Lok Sabha polls. The BJP's victory in the Hindi heartland states of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Rajasthan has weakened the Congress, allowing regional leaders to have more influence. If Congress had won some north Indian states, they would have sought a greater share of seats in weaker states. The alliance partners want to finalize the seats early to prepare anti-BJP voters for a single-party focus. Nitish Kumar's JDU and NCP's Sharad Pawar have expressed the need to strengthen the INDIA alliance.
