Two cheetahs were released into the wild in Kuno National Park during the Kuno Forest Festival. This is the first time they have been released in an area where visitors may see them. Madhya Pradesh forest officials called it a 'historic moment' in wildlife conservation. Cheetahs Agni and Vayu were freed from enclosures into the wilderness of Kuno National Park. The decision to release them followed the careful monitoring of 15 cheetahs housed in enclosures at Kuno since August.
