Silkyara tunnel survivor’s check-up throws up hole in heart, discharged after operation

Pushkar Singh, a worker rescued from the Silkyara tunnel in Uttarkashi, was diagnosed with a previously undiagnosed congenital hole in his heart during medical examinations at AIIMS-Rishikesh. He underwent successful surgery and was discharged. The hole in his heart was identified using an echocardiography test. Singh had open heart surgery and is recovering well. The treatment was free under the Atal Ayushman health scheme.
