Four fresh Covid deaths recorded in country

India records 605 new Covid cases, bringing the total number of active cases to 4,002. Four deaths have been reported in the past 24 hours. The emergence of the JN.1 variant and cold weather conditions have led to an increase in cases after December 5. The JN.1 variant has not resulted in a surge in new cases, hospitalizations, or deaths. India has experienced three waves of COVID-19, with the Delta wave in April-June 2021 being the peak.
