Committed to ensuring US-India partnership supports efforts of allies in Indo-Pacific: US defence secretary

US Defence Secretary Lloyd Austin emphasized the importance of bolstering India's military capabilities to maintain stability in the wider Indo-Pacific region during a Congressional hearing. Additionally, Admiral John C Aquilino, Commander of the US Indo-Pacific Command, stressed the significance of a strong US-India partnership in ensuring a free and open Indo-Pacific, especially in light of China's assertive actions.
