BSP chief Mayawati declared late Tuesday that she was divesting her London-educated MBA nephew Akash Anand of the twin responsibilities of being her designated political heir and the party's national coordinator “till he attains maturity”, marking a fall as swift as his elevation last Dec. Mayawati made the announcement on her official X handle days after Akash, the son of her younger brother Anand Kumar, was charged by UP police with using “unparliamentary language” in poll speeches at Sitapur and Unnao on April 28.
