(MENAFN - Jordan News Agency) Amman, Mar. 24 (Petra) -- Prime Minister Bisher Khasawneh on Wednesday welcomed a delegation of Iraqi officials who are taking part in trilateral meetings with Jordanian and Egyptian officials as part of the Jordan-Iraq-Egypt coordination mechanism.The meetings are aimed at forging closer integration between the three countries on building on the outcome of leaders' summits, the most recent of which was an August 2020 summit held in Amman and brought together His Majesty King Abdullah II, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi. The prime minister stressed the importance of the tripartite mechanism and said it sets the ground for closer economic integration in areas of oil and gas, transportation and construction, indicating that the arrangement runs parallel to the bilateral mechanisms of joint Arab cooperation.Khasawneh emphasized that the follow-up and coordination meetings should come up with specific and actionable projects.
