Egyptian, Tunisian leaders discuss regional issues

(MENAFN - Jordan News Agency) Cairo, Apr 10 (Petra) �� Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and Tunisian President Kais Saied discussed at Al-Ittihadiya Palace in Cairo key issues in the Arab region.The Egyptian leader said Arab efforts should be stepped up to support the central issue of Palestine and implement the two-state solution and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the lines of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital.The leaders also stressed the importance of supporting joint Arab action, protecting Arab national security, territorial integrity and independence of Arab countries, strengthening the concept of the nation state, and rejecting any attempts to interfere in the internal affairs of Arab countries.In a joint press conference following the talks, the Tunisian president valued Egypt's efforts to reach a fair and comprehensive agreement regarding the terms for filling and operating the Ethiopian Grand Renaissance Dam.The meeting also dealt with prospects for joint action within the African arena "in light of the important role that Egypt and Tunisia play in this regard."SS10/04/2021 18:38:49 MENAFN10042021000117011021ID1101895162
