(MENAFN - Gulf Times) Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretary-General Dr. Nayef Al Hajraf welcomed Friday the ceasefire in Gaza, which came after 11 days of attacks by the Israeli occupation forces that left a large number of casualties and injured, in addition to damage to facilities including schools and residential units. Al Hajraf said that what Gaza witnessed requires the international community to work on restarting peace talks to reach a fair resolution to the Palestinian issue based on international resolutions, the Arab Initiative for Peace, and the two state solution with a State of Palestine on the borders of June 4 1967 with East Al Quds as its capita. He stressed the GCC's firm support to the rights of the Palestinian people in establishing their independent country. Al Hajraf praised the Arab and Islamic world's reaction to the Israeli attack on Gaza, and the special UN General Assembly session on the subject, expressing his appreciation to the efforts of Qatar, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, and the UN Secretary-General.MENAFN21052021000067011011ID1102113254
