Palestine calls for US interference to end Israel�s provocations

(MENAFN) On Sunday, May. 23 the Palestinian Authority (PA) urged the US government to interfere to end Israel�s provocations in occupied East Jerusalem. For the first time in three weeks, dozens of Israeli settlers broke into the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in East Jerusalem on Friday. �Israeli support to extremist settlers amount to a blatant disregard of Arab and international efforts to stop the [Israeli] aggression,� stated PA spokesperson Nabil Abu Rudeineh in report quoted by the official Wafa news agency. �Israeli restrictions and siege on the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood in Jerusalem and the continued raids of the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound could drag the situation back into escalation and tensions,� he cautioned.
