Jordan, Egypt demand maintaining truce, stopping Israel�s breaches

(MENAFN) A report of the Jordanian foreign ministry said that on Monday, May. 24 Jordan and Egypt highlighted the need to maintain the truce in Gaza and to stop Israel�s breaches against the rights of the Palestinian people. At a press meeting in Amman hosted by the Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi and his Egyptian counterpart Sameh Shoukry, the two sides reaffirmed the current collaboration to "counter illegal Israeli violations that undermine the peace process." Both diplomats also talked about attempts to reach a political resolution towards restoring an effective international action to put an end to the occupation, and reach a just and inclusive peace that ensures the establishment of an independent Palestinian country on the basis of 1967 frontiers with East Jerusalem as its capital. Safadi noted that both nations concurred that there would be no fair and inclusive peace unless the occupation ends and the two-state resolution is accomplished.
