Turkish official: Turkey on way to recover from pandemic effects

Lutfi Elvan tweeted that the recent account deficit data published on Monday shows that we are on the way to recover. He noted that Turkey is going to continue giving support to its residents affected by the coronavirus pandemic with discerning support in case of need. The Treasury and Finance Ministry stated that the budget balance without interest payments -- primary balance -- recorded an excess of 73.9 billion Turkish liras (USD8.6 billion) in first five months. The Turkish Central Bank issued that the country�s current account balance improved announcing an USD3.58 billion decrease of some USD1.71 billion in April, comparing to April 2020, on Monday.
