Serious injury collision, Yelverton

Police were called at around 11.45am on Monday 25 May to Yelverton following reports of a two vehicle collision.

It was reported that two motorcycles were involved in the incident.

As a result of the collision, the rider of a black Suzuki motorcycle, a 49-year-old man from the Plymouth area, sustained serious injuries which were described at the scene as life threatening.

The rider of a red Honda motorcycle, a 54-year-old female local to the Yelverton area, also sustained serious but not life-threatening or life-changing injuries.

Both casualties were taken by land ambulance to Derriford Hospital, after first being treated at the scene by the staff from the Air Ambulance.

Local officers, as well as officers from the Roads Policing and Serious Collision Investigation Teams, attended and, once a forensic examination of the scene was completed, the road was re-opened as soon as was possible.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have relevant dash cam footage to get in touch.
