Single Vehicle Collision, Yelland near Barnstaple

Police were called shortly before 04:26am on Tuesday 16 June 2020, following reports of a single vehicle road traffic collision on the B3233 at Yelland, near Barnstaple, where a vehicle left the road and collided with a lamp post and wall.

As a result of the collision, the driver of a black Vauxhall Vectra, a 55-year-old man from the Barnstaple area, sustained serious injuries that were later described as life threatening.

The driver was initially conveyed by land ambulance to Barnstaple Hospital but was later transferred to Derriford Hospital.

Local Officers initially attended the scene and, once the severity of injury was established, officers from the Roads Policing Team completed the investigation.

Any witnesses to the collision, particularly anyone with Dash Cam footage, are asked to contact the Police on 101, quoting Log number 0105 16/6/20.
