*MEMPHIS, TN / ACCESSWIRE / April 25, 2023 / *The Memphis & Shelby County Film and Television Commission Foundation and On Location: MEMPHIS bring Shelby County's cast and crew yet another professional development workshop: "Best Practices on a Film/TV Set."

The Hollywood Commission will present this live, two-hour virtual workshop. A nonprofit founded by Lucasfilm Ltd. President Kathleen Kennedy and chaired by legal legend and social justice activist Anita Hill, the Hollywood Commission is well known in the industry.

The workshop takes place *Saturday, May 20th from 11 am - 1 pm (CDT). It is limited to 50 participants and is free of charge to those accepted.* Funding support is provided through the Film Commission's funding from Shelby County Government and The City of Memphis. Additional funding is provided by OL:M's participation in the Elevate Initiative, powered by Frontline Solutions and funded by The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

The workshop is presented in cooperation with The TN Entertainment Commission and IATSE-492 Tennessee.

It is open only to applicants who are residents of Shelby County who can present with their application a current Tennessee Driver's License showing a Shelby County address.*

"Best Practices on a Film/TV Set" is designed to provide participants with the knowledge and skills needed to maintain a professional and respectful environment on a film or TV set. This workshop is geared towards all film/TV production members-from producers/directors and actors to production assistants.

During the workshop, participants will learn about the importance of maintaining a positive and respectful attitude on set and the consequences of negative behavior. They will also learn to communicate effectively with their colleagues, handle conflicts and difficult situations, and maintain a safe and inclusive work environment.

Lillian Rivera will lead the workshop. She is a 20-year veteran of working in inclusion and diversity programs. Presently, she is the Director of Education and Evaluation at The Hollywood Commission. Participants can ask questions, share their experiences, and engage in interactive discussions to reinforce the concepts presented.

Joining Lillian in leading the workshop will be Julie Ann Crommett. As founder and CEO of Collective Moxie, Julie Ann works with organizations large and small on revolutionizing their DEI strategies through inclusive storytelling practices, accountability and internal/external community partnerships.

By the end of the workshop, participants will have a clear understanding of the best practices for maintaining professional behavior on a film or TV set and will be equipped with the tools and skills needed to create a positive, respectful, and safe work environment. They will be able to apply what they have learned to their own work and help create a culture of professionalism and respect on any film or TV production they work on in the future.
