*BERKELEY, CA / ACCESSWIRE / February 27, 2024 / *The Impact Fund today launched the Notice Project, an initiative to improve access to justice in class action lawsuits. The mission of the Notice Project is to empower class members with re-imagined class action notices that are simpler, clearer, more effective, and accessible.

As a first step in fulfilling this mission, the Notice Project is releasing free class action notice templates for litigators.

*The new class notice templates can be found at NoticeProject.org.*

Class action litigators often encounter challenges engaging class members and communicating critical case information if they send notices that lack clear visuals and contain complex language. Many class action notices use confusing formats, making it more challenging for class members to understand how to participate in the case.

"The purpose of a class notice is to communicate class members' legal rights," said Impact Fund Executive Director Jocelyn Larkin. "It is crucial that the language and visual design of the class notice impart that information without frustrating or confusing readers."

The new notice templates created by the Notice Project make it simple for litigators to draft notices that are easily understood and visually striking. Using Notice Project templates speeds up notice drafting, as there are multiple versions of the templates loaded with relevant sample text for use in different types of class action cases. Judges have approved notices based on Notice Project templates in the following cases:

· Donna J. Forsyth, et al. v. HP Inc., et al., No. 5:16-cv-04775 (N.D. Cal.)
· In re JUUL Labs, Inc., Marketing Sales Practice and Products Liability Litigation, No. 19-md-02913-WHO (N.D. Cal)
· Clancy v. The Salvation Army, No. 22 cv 1250 (N.D. Ill.)
· Hernandez v. U.S. Steel, No. GD-19-005325 (Allegheny County, PA)
· Mata v. Digital Recognition Network, Inc., No. 3:21-cv-01485 (S.D. Cal)
