Riverbed signs lease on property in SoMa

Riverbed Technology, the fast-growing San Francisco networking company, is relocating its headquarters to 680 Folsom St. The business has signed a nearly 170,000-square-foot lease, taking over five floors and expanding by more than 60 percent over its current space at 199 Fremont St. Riverbed, which develops products that improve internal business networks, has agreed to a 10-year lease and is expected to move into the building in 2014. The base annual rent will range from around $8.4 million to $9 million during the initial term of the lease, the company said in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
