According to a report by Reuters, on Saturday, several top class sporting events were cancelled as the traumatized nation began burying the dead from the peacetime mass killing in the country's history.

On Friday, a lone gunman killed 49 people and wounded over 20 others at two Christchurch mosques, a shooting which Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern condemned as 'a terrorist attack.
