Disney Announces 8 New Marvel Movies But Delays Avatar Sequel Until 2021
Hot off the gigantic success of Marvel Studios Avengers Endgame and acquisition of Fox Film studios, Disney announced some big movie plans in the near future.
Star Wars: The rise of Skywalker is set to hit theaters later this year but Disney also revealed there will be 3 new untitled star wars movies in theaters but that won’t start until 2022.
In the world of Marvel, the company is planning to release 8 currently untitled Marvel movies starting in 2020 Also, in 2020 other notable releases include Steven Speilberg’s adaption of the musical classic West Side Story, and Cruella which will star Emma Stone as the titular character Cruella De-Vil, according to Market Watch.
However, one notable delay are the follow-up sequels to James Cameron’s 2009 smash-hit Avatar.
Bloomberg reports Avatar 2 was supposed to also be released in 2020 but has now been pushed to 2021 and Avatar 3 will be released in 2023.
But I think with Marvel, Star Wars, and classic Disney characters under their umbrella, the house of mouse will do just fine despite a little delay.
